Glovo, a multi-category technology company, has confirmed Reni Onafeko as its Country Managing Director in Nigeria after she led the company’s operations in an acting capacity from the beginning of the year.

Her confirmation formalises her leadership of the company’s Nigerian business as it expands its operations across major cities and deepens its investment in the country’s digital economy.

The company said it has invested tens of billions of naira in Nigeria’s digital economy and continues to provide flexible earning opportunities to more than 6,000 independent riders annually.

Onafeko brings more than 11 years of experience in strategy, technology and operational leadership. Since joining Glovo, she has served in several leadership positions, including Head of Strategy and Finance, Head of Growth and Head of Abuja.

The company said her experience across these functions gave her an understanding of its commercial, financial, and operational activities.

Before joining Glovo, she spent eight years in consulting, including at Boston Consulting Group in London, where she advised senior executives and investors on investment decisions, growth strategies and large-scale business transformation across several industries.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Commenting on her confirmation, Onafeko said her progression through different functions at Glovo had strengthened her understanding of the business and the opportunities in the Nigerian market.
