The Human Resources Development Centre, University of Lagos (HRDC-UNILAG) and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management of Nigeria (CIPSMN) have renewed their partnership to provide quality manpower training and capacity development for industry professionals.
The renewal was announced recently as the Director/Head of HRDC, Dr Lateef Odekunle, led a team to engage with CIPSMN’s management at their Lagos office.
Odekunle explained that the partnership was revitalised following discussions about the suspended collaborative arrangements.
According to him, the collaboration broke down due to unforeseen circumstances, but both parties have agreed to work together again to create a robust strategy for future collaboration.
He added that the partnership would expand the frontier of manpower training provided by both organisations, increasing their market share in quality training and capacity development.
The HRDC-UNILAG Director stated: “As a capacity-building centre for the University of Lagos, our collaboration with CIPSMN will provide manpower and professional training for the nation and its organisations, covering topics such as storekeeping, business law, and general management.”
The CIPSMN team, led by Registrar/CEO, Dr Aliyu Mohammed, lauded HRDC-UNILAG’s initiative, noting that the partnership focuses on capacity building and certification programmes, including professional certification in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
Mohammed further emphasised that CIPSMN and UNILAG share a collegial relationship with aligned objectives in professional education and academic excellence, leading to a successful reunion with academic lectures and closer cooperation.
He commended the Director/Head of HRDC and his team for their impressive effort, expressing the belief that their initiative would yield meaningful results.
