The Ijaw Women Connect Worldwide (IWCWW) has congratulated the newly inaugurated 10th President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, Comrade (Dr.) Doubra Collins Okotete, pledging its support and collaboration to ensure the success of his administration.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Founder and Pioneer President of the group, Comrade Princess Mrs. Rosemary John-Oduone, the women described Okotete’s emergence as a reflection of his character, competence, resilience and dedication to the Ijaw nation.

The group noted that Okotete’s experience in the council, having served in various leadership positions, as well as his background in health and public service, had prepared him to provide purposeful leadership for the IYC.

It expressed confidence that under his leadership, the council would witness greater unity, strategic engagement and effective advocacy for the interests of the Ijaw people.

The women also pledged their prayers, support and collaboration, expressing hope that the new administration would prioritise the welfare of Ijaw youths, the development of Ijaw communities and the preservation of the people’s cultural heritage.

The group prayed for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for the new IYC president as he begins his tenure.
