Prudential Zenith Life Insurance Limited (PZL) has implemented a leadership restructuring aimed at increasing its performance and expanding its footprint in the Nigerian insurance market.

The company appointed Tokunboh Ishmael as the new Chairperson of its Board of Directors and Funmilayo Abimbola Omo as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

According to a statement by the firm, the appointments follow the insurer’s recent acquisition of the remaining 49 per cent shares in PZL, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary.

It said the move underscores the firm’s commitment to strengthening its presence in Nigeria and the broader African market.

Ishmael brings over two decades of experience in investment banking, private equity, and technology across Africa, Europe, and North America.

As a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and member of the CFA Institute, the managing director’s strategic insight is expected to be instrumental in guiding PZL’s governance and corporate direction.

The newly appointed Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Funmilayo Abimbola Omo, has extensive experience in the insurance and financial services sectors.

Her expertise in business transformation, customer-centric innovation, and operational excellence positions PZL for accelerated growth and enhanced market impact.
