The Mainland One Club has inaugurated a new executive team to manage its affairs and promote projects geared toward impacting society.

Members of the executives elected are: President, Oluwafemi James; Vice President, Ayo Cooker; General Secretary, Tokunbo Akin Oni; Financial Secretary, Gbemiga Alabi; Treasurer, Fred Nwaji and Public Relations Officer, Segun Akinfala.

Speaking at the event held at the weekend in Lagos, the President thanked members of the club for the confidence reposed in him and also pledged to be committed to the ideals of the club through sterling performances.

He said his administration would also focus on infrastructural development, improved facilities, welfare and human capacity in tandem with local governments.

James also pledged to follow up and continue all the good works the past president had embarked upon, such as projects related to fighting breast cancer, catering for motherless babies and the elderly and other community development projects to impact lives in society.

He said the club would partner with various bodies such as governmental, corporate organisations, non-governmental organisations and other societies to make the situation of the most vulnerable in the communities better.

James reaffirmed that the new executive will serve the club in fairness at all times and with a commitment to promote the common good of the club.

“ We shall continue our support to other club members, promote and maintain harmonious relationships among members. We need to project the image of the club and all its members and must be good ambassadors of the integral club wherever we find ourselves,” he said.

On his part, the outgoing secretary-general, Adekunle Peers, said the club, which has been in existence for 10 years, is service-oriented and consists of change-makers who are elected to execute several projects at the local government areas in the mainland area of Lagos state.

He called for support to raise funds to execute the laudable projects while advising members to be committed to continuing the club’s dream.
