NiTA awards Nwobodo as most exceptional data analytics professional
The Nigeria Technology Awards (NiTA), organised by Betamedia, celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of recognising innovation and excellence in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
Event Director and Advisory Board Member of NiTA, Felix Nnuji, expressed his gratitude for the transformative journey the awards have undergone.
Speaking at the event, he said, “As we celebrate this 10th anniversary, we look back at the innovators, startups, companies, and industry leaders who have left their mark on Nigeria’s tech landscape. NiTA has grown in both scope and prestige, providing a platform for recognising outstanding achievements.”
This year’s awards attracted participants from diverse industries, including telecommunications, software engineering, academia, marketing, automotive, retail, and commerce. The prestigious event honoured individuals and organisations championing transformation and pushing the boundaries of technology in their respective fields.
Among the key moments of the event, Luther Kington Nwobodo was recognised as the Most Exceptional Data Analytics Professional of the Year 2024. This award celebrated his outstanding leadership and influence in data analytics and environmental sustainability.
Notably, Nwobodo’s leadership at Zgnis Analytics was commended, where he developed a cutting-edge platform enabling companies, vendors, and international donor agencies to leverage waste data for impactful zero-waste initiatives. His work has provided invaluable insights into waste and recycling data across Nigeria, driving sustainable practices and fostering environmental stewardship.
Beyond measurable outcomes, Nwobodo’s contributions to the field of data analytics have been groundbreaking. A thought leader with over 10 published articles in international journals, he has advanced technology within the environmental sector. His mentorship programs have inspired youth and unemployed individuals to embrace sustainable practices, fostering the growth of the green economy. Speaking about his award, Nwobodo shared:
“I am truly humbled by this recognition. As the Managing Director of Zeugnis International Limited and the Chief Innovation Officer of 1 Goal Analytics, my journey has been driven by a deep passion for leveraging data to drive impactful, sustainable change. The founding of Zgnis Analytics was inspired by the need to address the gap in accurate and comprehensive waste data in Nigeria. Our platform empowers stakeholders with actionable intelligence, supporting initiatives that promote a zero-waste future and better environmental practices.”
Adding to the celebrations, the organisers unveiled a new initiative, the Nigeria Academic Excellence Awards (NAEA), designed to spotlight outstanding achievements in education, research, and academic innovation across Nigeria.
Nnuji said, “Through NAEA, we aim to spotlight individuals, institutions, and projects driving academic excellence in Nigeria. It is a step towards encouraging innovation and fostering growth in education and research.”
