OVL Foundation restates commitment to SDGs
OVL Foundation has restated its commitment to the development of sustainable goals (SDGs) by empowering the poor and vulnerable in Africa.
It said this during a visit to Home of God Grace Orphanage Agbowa, Epe, Lagos and others in Ogun State, adding that the visit was part of its ‘Rekindling Hope Initiative’, in which it engages in charity donations, health sensitisation and skills acquisition programme for under-privileged Africans.
Speaking, the Acting Executive Secretary, Oyinlola Scott-Igbene, explained that the visit was one of the programmes through which it puts smiles on the faces of women, widows, orphans and the less privileged in the society.
She said the gesture would allow the beneficiaries to realise that they have a place that unites, loves and cares for them to have productive lives and break free from poverty, stagnation and retrogression.
The visit also witnessed a health sensitisation session with the management of the homes in which they were acquainted with the importance of cleanliness and healthy living.
Basic standards for personal hygiene, such as washing of hands before eating, covering of mouth while coughing, setting standard for environmental cleanliness, effective cleaning as means of defense against viruses and infectious diseases were also highlighted.
“At OVL Foundation, we are committed to helping women and children live their full potential through education and economic empowerment,” she said.
