Smart Hospitality & Business Solutions Limited (SHS) has appointed Oluwatosin S. Odunlami as Managing Director of its Nigerian operations, as the technology company moves to strengthen its local business and expand its enterprise technology platform, SPHEMS.

The appointment, effective immediately, was announced by the company’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Ifeoluwa Oladiran.

Odunlami brings more than 25 years of experience in technology, engineering, operations, project management and strategic execution. He will oversee SHS’s Nigerian operations, which the company said currently span 13 centres across seven states, with 56 professionals working across nine industry verticals.

Founded in 2011, SHS said it has delivered more than 300 projects and deployed technology solutions across more than 40 hotels in Nigeria and other markets.

Its reported hospitality clients include The George, The Wheatbaker, DeleBrough, JS Signature, The Jagz and Bon Hotel Group, while corporate engagements have included Google Nigeria, Meta, Coral Group and Zenith Bank.

The company also provides managed information technology services through its Build & Operate model, which covers hospitality properties including Lilygate, Albergo, Cathelea, Rush Hill, Isglo, Willow Hotel Abuja and Casalavoro Residence.

Odunlami’s appointment comes as SHS seeks to expand the commercial rollout of its Smart Personnel, Hospitality & Enterprise Management System (SPHEMS), which was launched commercially in September 2025.

The platform is designed to integrate technology tools for hospitality and business operations. According to the company, its longer-term plans include expanding the platform beyond hospitality into other businesses and sectors.

Oladiran said Odunlami’s experience in technology leadership and organisational management would be important as the company enters its next phase of growth.

“In Tosin, we have appointed a leader who has spent more than two and a half decades doing the hard, disciplined work of making technology deliver, on time, on budget and at scale,” Oladiran said.

Before joining SHS’s executive leadership, Odunlami served as chief technology officer and programme management executive at Work Your Data UK. He was also chief executive officer of GoKonnect Interactive Media Services between 2019 and 2023.

Earlier in his career, he held the positions of chief innovation officer and chief information officer at Internet Solutions Nigeria Limited and worked in technology, project and engineering leadership roles at BT Technologies Ltd.

Odunlami had also served as a non-executive director on the board of Soladia Investment Nigeria Limited, SHS’s parent company.

His experience covers technology strategy, project and operations management, business process improvement, systems integration, stakeholder management and organisational development.

Speaking on his appointment, Odunlami said he intended to strengthen the company’s operational systems while supporting the expansion of its technology business.

“It is a privilege to lead SHS Nigeria at this point in its journey. Having served on the Soladia board for many years, I have watched SHS grow from a bold idea into a company trusted by some of the most demanding clients in the world,” he said.

“My mandate is to institutionalise that excellence: clearer workflows, stronger accountability and greater predictability for every client, colleague and partner, and to build the delivery engine that will carry SPHEMS and our smart technology services across Nigeria and beyond.”

In his new role, Odunlami will oversee service delivery, project management, field operations, the company’s 24-hour network operations centre and in-country finance, according to SHS.

His immediate priorities include strengthening delivery systems across the company’s Nigerian centres, expanding SPHEMS, growing the Build & Operate business and developing its leadership and talent pipeline.

The company also plans to expand its technology-managed operations into sectors including oil and gas.

Oladiran said the appointment would allow SHS to establish a clearer division of responsibilities between its London and Nigerian operations.

While the London office will continue to focus on strategy, product development, international partnerships, capital and overseas expansion, the Nigerian team will concentrate on execution, service delivery and domestic market growth.

The company is also targeting expansion across West Africa over the next five years, with plans to extend SPHEMS to hotels, enterprises and small businesses in Nigeria and other African markets.

Oladiran said SHS hopes to grow SPHEMS into a business valued at at least $1 billion and increase its workforce to 1,000 employees.

Those targets remain part of the company’s long-term growth strategy, while the immediate focus under Odunlami will be on strengthening operations and expanding its presence in the Nigerian market.

The leadership transition therefore marks a shift towards a more defined local management structure as SHS seeks to balance its Nigerian delivery operations with its London-based international strategy and product development.
