President of the Young Africans Network for Global Goals (YANGG), Kelechi Ndieze, has highlighted the pivotal role of the network in the transformative movement of Africa, emphasising that the network is not merely a spectator but a key player in shaping Africa’s destiny.

He said this in his acceptance speech, during his inauguration as president, outlining a vision for the network’s future.

He stressed the collective responsibility to work towards a just, equitable and prosperous future for all young Africans.

Ndieze outlined five key performance indicators (KPIs) that will guide the network’s actions, even as he called for unity, urging members to leverage the diversity of Africa’s cultures, traditions and experiences to create a tapestry of progress.

He said: “Africa is on the rise and the Young Africans Network for Global Goals is at the forefront of this transformative movement. In this pivotal role, we are not just representatives of our nations, but ambassadors of hope and catalysts for progress. Our commitment to the global goals is a pledge to eradicate poverty, promote education, foster gender equality, and champion sustainability. It is a commitment to building a future where no one is left behind and every young African has the opportunity to thrive.”

Immediate past president, Collins Ibeawuchi, in his farewell speech, who led the association for four years, expressed gratitude for the collective efforts that shaped the organisation’s history.

He expressed optimism for the future while extending cooperation for the new administration.
