Youth group holds summit on exceptional leadership

In response to Nigeria’s leadership crisis, the Royal Foundation International (RFI) is set to host it National Leadership Summit (NLS) on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Covenant University Secondary School, Ota, Ogun State.

In response to Nigeria’s leadership crisis, the Royal Foundation International (RFI) is set to host it National Leadership Summit (NLS) on Friday, June 9, 2017 at the Covenant University Secondary School, Ota, Ogun State.

The event with the theme: “Nigeria’s Future: The Role of Exceptional Leadership,” would be a platform to equip students with leadership skills for success in the private and public sectors as students and through their adult lives.

Convener of the summit, Femi Royal Aliu said, “Royal Foundation International is a youth organisation that uses innovation and cutting edge technology to package fellowship programmes, internships and summits for young people to promote individual effectiveness, wealth creation and leadership skills”.

The maiden edition of the NLS, which featured about 10 schools including Dalos College, Ambassadors College, ECOWAS College and Iganmode Grammer School (the defending champion that produced the debater of the year), among others, was held in November 2016.

He pointed out that the NLS 2017 would bring together no fewer than 20 schools to learn about exceptional and value-based leadership and how they can model it with students from other schools to compete for the debater of the year award.

The topic of the debate would focus on need to build one’s business rather than work for others.The event will bring together speakers including, Precious Ajoonu (Leap Africa); Jimoh Oluwasegun (NGOPodcast); Rahmah Aderinoye (UNICEF Global Ambassador) and Lanre Olokunde (Snapnet Nigeria).Others are Alexander Tosin (MTN Nigeria); Doyin Ajayi (Sweet FM); Oyekanmi Ayoyemi (Wikimedia Group) and Moremi Kedirsmeia from Botswana.
