Recently, African Diva Reality TV Show, an African series and interactive competition, was unveiled. The series is a docu-drama that focuses on the search for the ideal African woman. Women from all over the country will get a chance to compete for the privilege of being called an African Diva.

According to the creator of the show, Chika Ike, the target of the show is acting, adding, “It is also aimed at exposing the girls to the culture and norms of Africa. We want to promote the culture and pride of Africa, which is the essence of the show.”

The Nollywood star informs that for a girl to be eligible to participate in the show, she must be 18 to 25 years. According to her, “Twenty two contestants will begin the show. Basically, we are looking for originality, confidence, creativity and someone that can stand as an ambassador of African Diva.”

The show, which is in its second season, will be internally judged by Chika Ike and a panel of judges that will be both regulars and guest stars. Each day, the girls will compete in a task through which the girls will be judged on their domestic skills, hospitality, entrepreneurship, sports, child-care and their knowledge of Africa.

Contestants are assessed at the end of each task and every episode will see the eviction of at least one of the contestants. The winner goes home with USD$10,000, a car and other wonderful packages. The show is ongoing and is aired exclusively on African Independent Television (AIT) channel 253 on DSTV.
