Nigerian comedian and compere, Olanrewaju Gregory known as Larry J will on Sunday, October 11, 2026, stage his comedy show at the Terra Kulture, Tiamiyu Salvage, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Ace comedian, Alibaba who will make an appearance on the show will be joined by other comedians such as Ose, Oghene Oghene, Damola, Mr Paul, Funny Bone, Mc Wyse and others to crack up comedy lovers.

Speaking on what audience should expect from the comedians at the show, he said: “It is recommended and expected that those performing at the show will be very ethical. There will be a set of comedians you can listen to without having to cringe or say, ‘You shouldn’t have said that.’ It’s a comedy show meant for everybody from all walks of life, completely family oriented. Just come with an open mind, and you will see and understand what we’re trying to communicate.”

“I’m a comedian who gives direction. I show people that parenting takes real strength, not through beating your child, but by effectively getting your message across so they actually understand.”

Speaking on how to draw the line between discipline and abuse of children, he said: “The line between discipline and abuse is thin, and that’s the boundary we are trying to discover on this show through jokes, comedy, and clear examples.

“Abuse is an emotional reaction to a child’s action, whereas discipline is an intellectual reaction. You need to know the difference, it is crucial. If you don’t know the difference, when a child does something wrong, you might quickly beat them. That is abusive because you beat them without caring about the consequences.

Discipline, on the other hand, happens when you ask questions and understand why the child did what they did. You then correct the child in an appropriate way—whether through talking, loss of privileges, or physical punishment. Everyone reacts to different things, but the intent behind the action is what defines the difference.

On why he hasn’t kicked off a comedy club, he said: “Comedy clubs act as a testing ground for comedians to workshop raw material, and you simply prefer not to participate in that process.

A tighter way to express your thought. I could do comedy club, but I chose not to. Comedy clubs are essentially workshops where comics test raw material on live crowds to see what works, I’ve been to enough of them to respect the process, but it’s just not for me.”
