Since bursting onto the scene in 2016 with her critically acclaimed singles Pay Attention and Criminal, fast-rising singer and songwriter Nissi has been garnering strong support from the likes of MTV Base, SoulBounce, Guestlist Magazine, Link Up TV and GUAP Magazine, among others.

The London-based artiste is back with brand new visuals for her latest single Familiar. Produced by Chopstix, a producer who has worked with Wizkid, D’Banj, Ice Prince, Burna Boy among others, ‘Familiar’ sees Nissi bringing together, her jazz-funk roots, with lush Afrobeats and R&B sound scapes, to deliver a fun, positive, and uplifting jam.

Backed by lush talking drums, synth keys and horn arrangements, the infectious instrumentation provides the perfect sound-bed for the singer to shine vocally and spread her positive vibe.

For the music video, Nissi links up with burgeoning video director Labi (Wretch 32, Skepta, Fekky), to create an artistic dance-centric visual representation of the fun, sexy and creative vibe that the song lyrics portray. Featuring fine art, graphics and shoe designs crafted by Nissi herself, the visuals also show the fine artist side of Nissi, who is also a painter and art director.

According to Nissi, “Familiar is a song that really puts into melody my recent experiences and desire to connect with more people through my art. I’m talking about trying to get away from all the negative aspects of life and focus on the better things, which for me, means getting more ‘familiar’ with everyone that is showing an interest in my music, and just grabbing the opportunity I have to share more of my art with them.”
