Modupe Adio is Miss Curvy Africa


Modupe Adio has emerged Miss Curvy Africa. The pageant, which drew over 40 contestants from across Africa, saw Hansasi Belinda from Uganda as the first runner-up while Debbi Obasa from Ghana was the second runner-up.

The beauty pageant/reality show, which is aimed at empowering as well as fightingagainst women inequality in the society, held at Piccadilly Hotel Lekki, Lagos.The founder and convener, Mr. Durowoju Olumide Silver, said, the pageant “is platform where the African woman is appreciated for her natural beauty and endowment, colour, strength, curvy figure and charisma.”He disclosed that one of the uniqueness of this project is the idea of also appreciating people that have impacted, projected and empowered women in all fields of life.He pointed out that history was made, as the pageant crowned the first ever Miss Curvy Africa., Silver said there were three criteria used to judge the contestants: body figure, intelligent quotient and poise.

“We saw the different uniqueness of each contestant and see how brands and individual celebrities help the ladies to become somebody and the individual qualities that set them stand out,” he said.Also speaking on the pageant, the Business Development Manager, CANTU, sponsors of the show, Olubunmi Elizabeth, maintained that he company supports beauty projects by empowering African women with award-winning care hair products to make them more pretty and outstanding.As part of the company‘s mission statement, “we celebrate gorgeous women with gorgeous hairs with our award winning hair products.”
