Femi Otedola

First HoldCo Plc has reported a record ₦653.54 billion profit before tax for the first half of 2026, representing an 83.5 per cent increase compared with ₦356.15 billion recorded in the same period last year.

The financial group’s profit after tax also rose significantly to ₦526.13 billion, while operating profit climbed to ₦651.98 billion. The strong performance was supported by improved non-interest income, reduced credit impairment charges and stronger operational efficiency.

The company’s total assets increased to ₦30.65 trillion, while customer deposits grew to ₦21.93 trillion and loans to customers rose to ₦9.51 trillion. Following the release of the results, investors reacted positively, pushing First HoldCo’s share price up by 10 per cent during trading.

The Group Chairman, Femi Otedola, described the results as a major milestone in the company’s transformation journey, while management said the performance reflects efforts to strengthen the balance sheet, improve asset quality and position the group for long-term growth.
