The Oyo State House of Assembly has approved Governor Seyi Makinde’s request to proceed on annual leave from August 10 to September 11, 2026.

Deputy Governor Barr. Bayo Lawal will serve as Acting Governor throughout the period, with Governor Makinde expected to resume official duties on September 14, 2026.

The approval was granted during Thursday’s plenary after the governor formally notified the Assembly in line with constitutional provisions.
