Reps approve Tinubu’s state of emergency in Rivers
The House of Representatives has approved President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State.
The House approved the president’s proclamation after brief debate and amendments to the motion moved by the majority leader in a plenary session presided over by speaker Abbas Tajudeen.
The plenary was attended by 243 members.

The president also suspended the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, his Deputy, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, as well as the members of the State House of Assembly.
Tinubu further nominated Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd) as Administrator to take charge of the affairs of the state for the period.
