Bauchi, new airline sign MoU for operations

A new indigenous airline, Wikki Air Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bauchi State Government to commence flight operations from the state, connecting both domestic and international routes.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO) of Wikki Air, Mrs. Eugenia Ndukwe, disclosed this during the recently concluded 2025 Bauchi Investment Summit, noting that the airline, in collaboration with key industry partners, has finalized arrangements to launch operations soon.

According to Ndukwe, the name Wikki Air was inspired by the state’s renowned Wikki Warm Spring, symbolizing warmth, purity, and resilience.

“We are an indigenous airline and have decided to domesticate our name. Though we are not from Bauchi, we believe in promoting the state’s economic potential,” she stated.

She explained that Wikki Air aims to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient air transport services, with strong backing from investors and aviation professionals with decades of industry experience.

“The signing of this MoU underscores our commitment to building a strong partnership with the Bauchi State Government and other local stakeholders,” she added, expressing optimism that the venture will significantly contribute to the economic growth and development of the state.

Ndukwe assured that Wikki Air would not only enhance connectivity but also create employment opportunities and strengthen Bauchi’s position as a hub for trade, tourism, and investment.
