Egyptian President ,Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has showered encomium on outgoing President of the African Development Bank Group, AfDB, Akinwumi Adesina for providing crucial funding to advance development goals across Africa.
In a meeting held in Caro on Monday, President El-Sisi also lauded Adesina for strengthening AfD’s role in the continent and wished him success in his future endeavours as he takes a bow from his present role.
President El-Sisi also reaffirmed to Adesina Egypt’s ongoing support for AfDB and its commitment to cooperating with the next president, Sisia and Adesina also stressed the need to strengthen the private sector’s role in development, job creation, ensuring food and water security, improving energy efficiency, developing manufacturing capabilities, and advancing digital transformation.
In his response, Adesina expressed gratitude to President Sisi unalloyed support and role towards enhancing the bank’s development efforts across Africa in recent years. Both Sis and Adesina also brainstormed on the necessity of the AfDB’s continuous support for Egypt’s efforts to achieve growth, development, and economic reform.
Adesina, the 8th elected president of the African Development Bank Group, was first elected to this position in May 2015 during the Bank’s Annual Meetings held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire.
