Dano, NSN mark World Milk Day

Arla Dano recently celebrated this year’s World Milk Day with school children in Lagos, in collaboration with the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) to raise awareness for milk intake.

Arla Dano recently celebrated this year’s World Milk Day with school children in Lagos, in collaboration with the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) to raise awareness for milk intake.

The event with the theme, “Raise a Glass, Nourish a Child”, attracted the wife of the Lagos State Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode, Deputy Governor, Dr. Idiat Adebule, President, Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Bartholomew Brai, Nutrition Officer, Lagos State Ministry of Health, Bunmi Braheem and principal officials of the state Ministry of Health, among other stakeholders in the health and nutrition sector.

Country Category Manager of Dano, Olumide Aniyikaiye enjoined the 2,000 school children that pledged to healthy and nutritional living to consume milk daily.Speaking at the event, Bolanle Ambode, who was represented by Oyinlola Adejare described milk as an important component of children’s meal.

She lauded Dano for the initiative with emphasis on its strong schools and Dano cares Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) campaigns.Also speaking, Adebule who was represented by Kehinde Hazoume, highlighted the benefits of milk and commended Dano for bringing school children together to celebrate the day.Brai in his address thanked Dano for taking a bold step by partnering with NSN and contributing to the well being of Nigerian children.

“We are happy over this strategic partnership with TG Arla. This partnership is part of our resolution to associate with individuals and brands taking significant steps to help end malnutrition in Nigeria.

Assistant Category Manager, Rosette Agbor, while appreciating guests and stakeholders at the event said Dano would continue to provide Nigerian mothers and other Nigerians with healthy, nutritional and affordable range of milk products, capable of boosting the mental and physical well being for the young and old.

The World Milk Day was instituted by the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and is celebrated on June 1 every year to raise awareness for milk as a global food for healthy living. The day provides stakeholders with the opportunity to focus on milk and to publicise activities relating to milk and the milk industry globally.
