The Federal Government has flagged-off campaign for the patronage of made-in-Nigeria products and services in the Southwest region of the country.

The flag-off was part of activities marking the 13th National Council of Industry, Trade and Investment meeting in Ekiti State.

The Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, Adeniyi Adebayo, said that the campaign was part of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (ERGP) Strategy and National Economic Sustainability Programme (NESP) of the Federal Government to reposition the country’s economy.

Adebayo noted that the patronage of locally made products would create more jobs, reduce poverty and also boost the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) across the country.

The Minister also said that it had implemented several policies and programmes through the ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment to reposition MSMEs as the engine room for wealth creation, economic transformation and development in the country.

In his address, Governor Kayode Fayemi lauded the Federal Government’s investment into the development of MSMEs and for collaborating with states to provide solutions that deepens access to finance, market and resources.

Fayemi said that apart from creating an enabling environment for MSMES to thrive in Ekiti, the state government had through a collaborative multi-agency approach, attracted almost a $100 million investments in agriculture, technology and infrastructure to the State.
