FG lauds NPA, One-Stop-Shop team for successful sale of domestic crude oil in Naira
The Chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee on the Federal Government’s policy for domestic crude oil and refined products sales in Naira, Zacch Adedeji, has lauded the efforts of the One-Stop-Shop (OSS) team, led by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), for ensuring seamless operations.
This commendation comes shortly after Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N899.50 per litre.
Adedeji, who also serves as the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), expressed his appreciation during a visit to the NPA Headquarters yesterday.
He described the successful implementation of the presidential directive as a “significant achievement” and praised the OSS team for their dedication and patriotism.
“We recognise that this pioneering effort reflects your commitment and patriotism. We encourage you to maintain the hard work and dedication that has made this initiative a success,” Adedeji said.
He further expressed his gratitude to all participating agencies for their invaluable cooperation and support.
Adedeji further stated that this collective effort has cemented the initiative’s success, ensuring stability in petroleum product availability and bolstering the nation’s energy security.
In response, the Managing Director of NPA, Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, pledged the agency’s continued commitment to advancing the initiative.
He acknowledged the leadership provided by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, as well as Adedeji’s unwavering support.
“With the success of selling crude oil and allied products in Naira to domestic refiners, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has saved losses running into billions of Naira, guaranteeing national energy security, deepening trade balance, and creating jobs,” Dantsoho remarked.
He also highlighted the policy’s broader impact, including the eradication of fuel scarcity and the long queues that historically marred the festive season.
