The Managing Director of Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC), Dr. Mrs. Lucy Newman has unveiled the new website of the centre. Speaking recently in Lagos at the award and dinner party organised for the bank directors and other financial institutions at the centre Newman said, will continue to upgrade its innovation and quality service with new products.
 
She said that the website is meant for everyone to navigate in order to see what it has for them. The site according to her will acquaint clients with information on upcoming programmes, news and social media integration of the centre’s platform.

The Deputy Governor, Financial System Stability of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Joseph Nnanna, who is also the chairman of FITC, said CBN has been a supporting partner for training directors of banks and other financial institutions through continuous education programme for the past 10 years. He said that the partnership has produced about seven thousand trained directors of banks and other financial institutions, which are helping to sustain the culture of corporate governance in the nation financial institutions.
 
Nnanna linked that successful corporate governance with strict adherence to ethics and professionalism of the centre, adding that firms would need to have one vision and mission for members to buy into it.

He maintained Associated ineffective board performance with weak internal controls, high non-performing loans and poor response to inside abuses.

He commended the centre for its outstanding performance, which according to him has manifested by thenumerous honours and laurels won over the years through its leadership effort.

Former chairman of the centre, Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, who was also former deputy governor, CBN, was honoured for its hard work and contribution towards the growth of the centre.
