Insurance industry’s assets hit N2.13 trillion

The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has disclosed that the industry total assets stood at N2.13 trillion as at end of 2021.

It also revealed that the sector generated a gross premium income of over N630.36 billion last year just as the net claim was N238.05 billion.
NAICOM Head, Corporate Communication, Rasaq Salami, released the figure, yesterday, via the Commission’s website.
According to the release, the industry’s assets recorded 16 per cent from June 2020 to September 2021. It increased from N1.8 trillion to N2.09 billion.
