Ministry graduates 45 in ICT, e-business training

The Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs has graduated 45 trainees in Information anf Communication Technology, e-business and enterprenuership at The Polytechnic, Ibadan. A statement from the Director of Press and Public Relations, Marshal Gundu quoted the Minister of State, Prof. Claudius Omoleye Daramola as saying that a start up capital of N500,000 would be provided for each of the trainees.

“This programme is one of the initiatives of the Ministry aimed at supporting the present administration’s programme of empowering the youths to be gainfully employed and be employers of labour instead of seeking for white collar jobs. It is also intended to make the youths productive, reduce restiveness and insecurity in the Niger Delta region”, the minister said.

The minister advised the trainees to use the seed capital judiciously. He also admonished them to make the best use of the knowledge and skills gained for the betterment of their lives, their communities, and the nation.

Rector of The Polytechnic, Ibadan Prof. Olatunde Fawole noted in his remarks that the graduands had acquired the best of skills and knowledge from the one month training programme, adding that it was left for them to utilise the skills and competencies acquired to uplift themselves and transform the country admonished the graduands that while it is good to think big, they must be not despise humbly beginning.
