Sunbeth Global Concepts redeems ₦25.1bn commercial paper at maturity

Sunbeth Global Concepts has redeemed its ₦25.1 billion Series 1 Commercial Paper in full at maturity under its ₦200 billion Commercial Paper Programme.

Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited has announced the redemption of its ₦25.1 billion Series 1 Commercial Paper (CP) issued under the company’s ₦200 billion Commercial Paper Programme.

The agro-commodities sourcing and trading company said the notes were redeemed in full on their maturity date of September 4, 2026, in line with its obligations to investors.

The redemption follows the establishment of Sunbeth’s ₦200 billion Commercial Paper Programme in March 2026 to support its agricultural export operations and other funding requirements.

Under the programme, the company completed Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 issuances in March, receiving total subscriptions of ₦165.73 billion against an initial target of ₦100 billion.

Sunbeth said it ultimately accepted ₦150.4 billion across the three series, indicating demand above the amount it initially sought to raise.

Commenting on the Series 1 redemption, Chief Executive Officer of Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited, Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, said meeting the obligation as scheduled reflected the company’s approach to financial management.

“Meeting our Series 1 obligation in full and on schedule reflects the strength of our business fundamentals, prudent financial management and the confidence investors have placed in Sunbeth,” Owoyemi said.

“Credibility is earned through consistent performance, transparency and honouring our commitments. As we continue to scale our participation across the agricultural value chain, maintaining that discipline remains central to how we grow.”

Chief Financial Officer of the company, Adeyemi Aduwo, said the redemption was also consistent with Sunbeth’s approach to capital and liquidity management.

“The successful redemption of the Series 1 notes reflects the disciplined approach we take to capital and liquidity management,” Aduwo said.

“Our focus remains on deploying capital efficiently, maintaining strong financial controls and ensuring that our growth is supported by a funding structure that enables us to meet our obligations as they fall due.”

Established in 2017, Sunbeth operates within Nigeria’s agricultural commodities and export industry, with activities spanning the sourcing and trading of products including cocoa and cashew nuts.

According to the company, it has exported more than 200,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans and 60,000 metric tonnes of cashew nuts to international markets since commencing operations.

Sunbeth also said it works directly with more than 30,000 farmers and collaborates with over 250 local buying agents across the country.

Its international business relationships include companies and financial institutions such as Cargill, GCB Group, JB Cocoa, Touton, Macquarie and StoneX.

The company also holds short and long-term credit ratings from DataPro, GCR, Agusto & Co. and Intelligence Africa.

According to information provided by Sunbeth, it holds an A2 short-term rating from the four agencies. Its long-term ratings are A+ from DataPro, BBB+ from GCR, BBB from Agusto & Co. and BBB+ with a stable outlook from Intelligence Africa.

Its Commercial Paper Programme is also subject to the disclosure and reporting requirements of FMDQ Securities Exchange.

Sunbeth said it intends to continue expanding its procurement capacity and international partnerships while increasing its participation in higher-value segments of the agricultural value chain in Nigeria and other parts of sub-Saharan Africa.
