The fourth valedictory lecture of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), slated for Friday at Harbour Point Event Hall, Victoria Island, Lagos, will be delivered by the retiring Managing Director of United Bank for Africa Plc, Philip Oduoza.

CIBN instituted a valedictory lecture series in 2008 to acknowledge, honour and celebrate the contributions of individuals who have distinguished themselves and reached the pinnacle of their career in banking.

Having had an eventful career at United Bank for Africa Plc, Oduoza, is set to retire by the end of July 2016.

This followed the completion of his tenure as the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank in an inspiring and enviable career spanning over decades of diverse management and operational experience.

This lecture, fourth in the series, is titled: “The Emergence of a Nigerian Pan-African Bank.”

The event, which will be chaired by the founder and former Managing Director of Diamond Bank Plc, Dr. Pascal Dozie.
