UTR expresses commitment to tackle tax burdens among firms, others
To bring more organisations and individuals into the tax net in the country, Ultimate Tax Relief (UTR) has expressed commitment to address tax challenges among taxpayers across Nigeria.
The group wants to be the taxpayers’ voice by providing the right solutions to all tax matters at all levels in an efficient manner to free taxpayers from tax burdens and ensure compliance across all sectors of the economy.
The President/Chief Executive Officer, Habeeb Fasuyi, who addressed journalists at a press briefing held in Lagos, said we assured the government to be accountable and promised to represent taxpayers of safety net and to also help Nigerian taxpayers to reduce their tax liability to resolve such problems between them and the government.
Fasuyi explained that some organisations/individuals have tax burdens but they are not knowledgeable enough to approach the government’s agency for a solution, because of this fact, a lot of businesses have gone under, as they don’t know what to do to resolve tax liabilities.
Also, the Director, of Tax Management and Operation, Aderonke Oloruntoye, said taxation has become a vital source of revenue for government expenditure, and revenue authorities at both the federal and state levels have become more aggressive in ensuring that the tax law is followed and to engage more organisations and individuals into the tax net.
