Vconnect, Africa’s leading lead generation and management system for SMEs, has announced it will be hosting a masterclass series for Nigerian SMEs in the first quarter of 2019, aimed at upskilling over 400 such professionals.

Tagged “Empower”, the series of 2-day trainings are value-driven and will focus on improving the productivity and efficiency of Nigerian SMEs which forms a major section of Nigeria’s informal sector. The company has tied up with ISHK Tolaram Foundation and Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to jointly deliver the trainings and create maximum value for the attendees.

“SMEs are the lifeblood of Nigeria, contributing about 54% of our GDP, but from experience we’ve come to know that there are simply too many gaps existing in their processes. This means, amongst other things, they are sometimes losing money in places where they should be making profit. We want to make an impact there; help these small businesses improve their bottom line and ultimately empower them to expand” says Deepankar Rustagi, CEO Vconnect

The “Empower” masterclasses will reveal important information about business communication, upselling, loan application, bookkeeping, workplace safety / best practices for small business and more.

“As of right now, the productivity of Nigeria’s SMEs is only one-fifth to one-quarter that of formal firms. In a country where the informal sector is large, improving their productivity through upskilling and business knowledge-sharing will increase the rate of economic growth for Nigeria’s and that’s our big goal for this training,” says Deepankar Rustagi.

The first edition of the masterclass is for electricians and will be led by subject matter experts from Schneider Electric, ISHK Tolaram Foundation, LSETF and Vconnect. For the electricians, the masterclasses will define a step by step process for deploying an energy-efficient / cost effective repair protocols as well as business management.

The first edition will be held on March 6th – 7th. Electrical business owners interested in the masterclass can register at vconnect.com/masterclass.
