YUDALA-EVENT-3

Yudala, Nigeria’s leading online & offline retail store, eyes becoming Sub-Saharan African e-commerce market leader, said Prince Nnamdi Ekeh, the founder and vice president, Yudala (Nigeria).

The e-commerce platform which commenced operations barely a year ago with twelve staff, has surpassed expectations with the workforce increased to three hundred and fifty (350), he said.

To enhance its customer-centric gestures, Yudala will soon launch a credit scheme called ‘retail credit’, Ekeh told Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, adding that Yudala is unrelenting in its disruptive tendencies in the sector, as they target to retain the number position in Nigeria (retails), while spreading to other African countries.

“We want to enter South Africa and others; not just to be present, but to be the number one in Sub-Saharan Africa”, he said.

According to the Yudala Founder, “The past one year has been ‘crazy’ with the ups and downs. It is not an easy fit for a newborn to breakthrough ‘disrupting’ existing e-commerce platforms in the country. Yudala is made of creative people; so in whatever situation we find ourselves, maybe prices are too high, we find a way of adding more values to the product. So, the disruptive prowess of Yudala rests on the value creation for the customers. Even when the economic cake is getting small, we have to grab our portion and move on.

“In the last one year, while some e-commerce platforms where retrenching workers, Yudala’s staff strength increased from twelve (12) in 2015 to present three hundred and fifty (350) in 2016 with four people joining the platform this week alone.

Ekeh said, “Apart from the geometric increase in staff strength, we have done billions of sales, rolled out sixteen (16) stores across the country, did the first drone delivery; during our Yugala sales we made over N1.5billion sales (that was the last Christmas sales), the largest and record breaking in the country. In fact, we have made a lot of progress. I really have to give shout-out to Yudala staff.
