Experimental activities with King’s College will include the set-up of a 5G Tactile Internet Lab with test bed capabilities, enabling the creation, testing and real-time adaptation of radio technology in software. This will occur both in devices and remotely as part of Cloud RAN experimentation. An Ericsson King’s College London 5G Tactile Internet showroom will showcase developed prototypes and connect to real-time live test beds in London and globally.

Emirates continues to invest over $20 million yearly on installing and operating inflight connectivity systems which enable onboard Wi-Fi services. On Emirates’ ultra long-haul flights (over 14 hours), over 30 per cent of passengers typically use Wi-Fi services, and on a recent flight to New York, 66 per cent of passengers used onboard Wi-Fi.

The first thing people always talk about is infrastructural challenges. The mere fact that there are infrastructural challenges has not stopped the rapid growth of e-payment in Nigeria. We are not where we were five years ago. In fact, we are not where we were two years ago. Therefore, many things are improving. We know we are not yet there, but we should not discountenance the fact that a lot of progress has been made. We cannot wait and say we cannot practice e-payment until everything is perfect because that day will not come. Even if you go to the developed countries, you still have occasional failures. You still have communication challenges. It may not be as much as we have here, but they still happen.
