Foundation, firm empower students with educational materials in Ibadan

In its ongoing effort to promote inclusive access to education, OPay Digital Services has partnered with Brace-Up The Young Foundation to make a significant impact through its Back-to-School project, held at Government College Ibadan (GCI) in Ibadan.

The outreach phase one, which began on July 23, 2025, and will continue in September with phase 2, is aimed at supporting over 650 students from various secondary schools across Ibadan by providing educational materials.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Manager, Itoro Udo, emphasised the importance of investing in children for the long-term benefit of society.

“At OPay, we believe that real impact begins with the child. When we equip students with the tools they need, we are not just providing school bags or books; we are opening doors to possibilities.

“Initiatives like this are crucial for ensuring a secure future for our youth. By investing in the lives of children, we help them excel academically and prepare for tomorrow,” said Udo.

The Oyo State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Hon. Olusegun Olayiwola, represented by Mr. S.O. Oladokun, in a goodwill message, commended the foundation’s consistent efforts toward educational development.

“This initiative is a welcome development. It aligns with the ministry’s goal of ensuring that every child has access to education across the state,” he noted.

Founder, Brace-Up The Young Foundation, Obasanjo Fajemirokun, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to supporting young learners in underserved communities. He expressed gratitude to OPay for their partnership, adding that the foundation will continue to work in communities to impact lives positively.

“Education is a powerful tool for transformation. Our mission is to level the playing field for children who might otherwise be left behind,” he stated.

“As a foundation, we will continue our work in communities to impact lives positively. Phase 2 of the project will take place in September 2025,” he revealed.
