FHCDI Children’s Day Spelling Bee competition

The Foundation for Human Capacity Development and Innovation (FHCDI), Suleja, Niger State, has concluded its annual Children’s Day Spelling Bee Competition, with Juneberry School emerging as the overall winner of the 2026 edition.

The competition, organized by the Foundation and facilitated by its founder, Rear Admiral Hamza Ibrahim, brought together pupils from public and private schools across Suleja Local Government Area in a keenly contested academic exercise aimed at promoting educational excellence and healthy competition among children.

At the grand finale, held as part of activities marking the Children’s Day celebration, Hassan Dallatu Model School emerged as the first runner-up, while Global Vision School secured third place after defeating Engr. Mukhtar Primary School, Gwazunu, in the third-place playoff.

Defending champions, Juneberry School, demonstrated outstanding academic prowess throughout the competition to successfully retain their title and lift the 2026 championship trophy.

Speaking at the event, the organizers described the competition as an annual initiative designed to encourage academic excellence, build confidence among pupils, and foster a strong culture of learning among school children in Suleja and beyond.

The winning schools received various prizes, including trophies and cash awards, in recognition of their performances.

Participants, teachers, parents, and guests commended the Foundation for sustaining the educational initiative, noting that the competition has continued to inspire pupils to strive for academic excellence through hard work, discipline, and determination.
