Keystone Bank donates renovated classroom block to Akwa Ibom govt

Keystone Bank Limited has handed over a fully renovated and equipped classroom block to the Akwa Ibom State Government at Community Comprehensive Secondary School, Four Towns, Uyo, as part of its corporate social responsibility in education.

The commissioning ceremony, held on Tuesday at the school premises, drew government officials, Keystone Bank executives, community leaders, teachers, and students.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Eucharia Ken-Agbiriogu, Directorate Head, South, Keystone Bank, said the gesture reflects the bank’s commitment to supporting education as a tool for national development.

“At Keystone Bank, we believe that investing in education is one of the most powerful ways to contribute to the progress of our nation. This renovated school block represents what is achievable when the private and public sectors work together towards a shared vision,” she said.

Ken-Agbiriogu added that the intervention aligns with Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, which prioritises education and youth empowerment.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Secondary Education Board, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ekaette Ebong Okon praised the bank for complementing the state government’s efforts to improve infrastructure in schools.

“Such collaborations significantly enhance our drive to provide quality education and better learning environments for students across the state,” he said.

The school’s principal, Pastor Ime Ekpo, described the renovated facility as a timely intervention that transformed one of the most dilapidated blocks on campus.

“When I resumed here, these blocks were in the worst condition. Today, through the benevolence of Keystone Bank, the story has changed. On behalf of the entire school community, I express our deep gratitude and urge other institutions to emulate this gesture,” Ekpo said.

The project was executed under the Keystone Bank Education Support Initiative, which the bank said reaffirms its commitment to corporate social responsibility, education, and national development.
