Atiba University, Oyo, has announced the promotion of two eminent academics to the rank of professor, reaffirming its commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and community service.
The elevations, which followed rigorous internal and external assessments in line with National Universities Commission (NUC) standards, were approved by the university’s governing authorities as a recognition of merit and sustained scholarly contributions.
Professor Amos Oyetunde Alabi was elevated to the rank of Professor of Educational Management, Policy, and Planning. He is widely regarded for his outstanding research, robust peer-reviewed publications, and mentorship of undergraduate and postgraduate students. His work has shaped educational policy and practice in Nigeria.
Similarly, Adeniran Rahman Tella was promoted to Professor of Strategic Management and Public Policy. With over 45 scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals, Professor Tella’s research has influenced corporate strategy, policy analysis, and management practice. He is celebrated for his teaching, supervision, and leadership contributions within and beyond Atiba University.
Vice-Chancellor of Atiba University, Professor Sunday Olawale Okeniyi, congratulated the newly elevated professors, praising their dedication and scholarship.
“Their hard work, commitment to excellence, and outstanding scholarship exemplify the values we uphold as a university. This milestone will inspire our younger academics and deepen our contributions to national development and global knowledge,” Okeniyi said.
The university’s Founder and President, Dr. James Adesokan Ojebode, also expressed delight, noting that the promotions reflect the calibre of scholars Atiba University attracts and nurtures.
“Atiba University was founded on the principles of knowledge, character, and service, and these professors exemplify those ideals,” he said.
