The West African Examinations Council­ (WAEC) has officially released the results of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates, ending weeks of anticipation among students, parents, and schools across Nigeria.

 

In a statement issued on Wednesday, WAEC urged candidates to generate their result-checking PIN via its official portal before accessing their results online.

 

“UPDATE: 2026 WASSCE (SC) results have been released. Generate your PIN at https://waec.org and check your results now at https://www.waecdirect.org,” the examination body announced.

 

According to WAEC, 1,950,726 candidates sat for the examination, while 1,200,514 candidates, representing 61.54 per cent, obtained credits in at least five subjects, including English Language and Mathematics—the minimum requirement for admission into most tertiary institutions.

 

Candidates are advised to generate their result-checking PIN through the official WAEC portal at https://waec.org and proceed to https://www.waecdirect.org to check their results by entering their examination details. WAEC also warned candidates to use only its official platforms to avoid fraudulent websites and scams.

 

The release of the results marks an important milestone for candidates seeking admission into universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and other tertiary institutions for the 2026/2027 academic session.
