The Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZSUBEB), Professor Nasir Garba Anka, has expressed deep concern over the vandalism and theft of school property at UBE Primary School, Low Cost, Gusau.
Professor Anka made the remarks during an unscheduled visit to the school, where he discovered that several items, including chairs, desks, and window frames, had been stolen or destroyed.
He described the incident as a grave act of negligence and vowed that those responsible would face appropriate sanctions.
The ZSUBEB Chairman immediately ordered the arrest of the headmaster and the school’s security guard for questioning to determine how the vandalism occurred under their supervision.
Professor Anka reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to protecting public assets and ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment in all basic education schools across Zamfara State.
He warned that the government would not tolerate any act of carelessness or sabotage capable of undermining its efforts to improve the education sector.
