NERC hails transformative efforts at EEDC
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has admitted that sustainability and transformative efforts are ongoing in some distribution companies, especially Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC)
With challenges being faced by the power sector, Chairman NERC, Sanusi Garba noted that such efforts would improve productivity and efficiency in the utility company.
This was disclosed in a release issued by EEDC and signed by Head, Corporate Communications, Emeka Ezeh, who announced the appointment of key management, including the former Managing Director of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), Ernest Mupwaya as executive director.
The company disclosed that Garba, who commended the DisCos, when he received the delegation from EEDC, led by its Chairman, Emeka Offor, in company of its Executive Management team noted that Garba extolled Offor for strengthening the management team of EEDC with the appointment of experienced professionals in the industry.
According to the company, Mupwaya who is coming in as the Executive Director in charge of Technical & Operations is bringing on board his over 30 years of experience garnered in the electricity industry, part of which was as the Managing Director, ZESCO, Zambia; Commercial Director, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), where he was later elevated to the position of Managing Director/CEO.
He has a Doctorate degree in Business Administration from California Intercontinental University, USA (DBA), a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Glamorgan and University of South Wales, United Kingdom, and also a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Zambia.
