As Nigeria positions itself at the forefront of Africa’s evolving energy landscape, stakeholders across the global energy sector are set to gather in Abuja for NOG Energy Week 2025 to chart the future of Africa’s oil and gas industry and accelerate investment, innovation, and partnerships.
The 24th edition of the event, themed ‘Accelerating Global Energy Progress Through Investment, Partnerships & Innovation’, will hold from June 29 to July 3 at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in the Federal Capital Territory.
It comes at a time when international oil companies (IOCs) are increasingly shifting their operations offshore, leaving onshore assets to indigenous players, thereby reshaping the ownership structure of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Amid these transitions, the Federal Government recently revealed that Nigeria has secured over $8 billion in Final Investment Decisions (FIDs) for deepwater oil and gas projects within a single year. The investments, made possible through presidential directives that cleared long-standing bottlenecks, are expected to activate hundreds of dormant wells, enhance local production, and bolster the participation of Nigerian-owned companies in the energy value chain.
NOG Energy Week 2025 will serve as a critical platform for examining these developments and the broader challenges facing the continent’s energy sector, including energy diversification, renewable integration, and regulatory reform.
It will feature high-level sessions, panel discussions, and presentations focused on solutions to unlock sustainable growth and secure funding for long-term energy development.
The Country Director – Nigeria and Portfolio Director – Energy for dmg Nigeria events, Wemimo Oyelana, noted that this year’s forum would confront some of the sector’s most urgent issues.
“For over 25 years, NOG Energy Week has provided a trusted platform where industry leaders come together to have honest conversations and collaborate on solutions that move the sector forward,” Oyelana said.
Oyelana highlighted the event’s focus on attracting regional and international funding, positioning natural gas as the preferred transition fuel, and exploring how industrialisation can catalyse economic expansion. “The goal is clear: to shape policy, inspire innovation, and attract sustainable investment that will transform the industry for the better,” he added.
The conference will bring together Presidents, Ministers, regulators, investors, and CEOs from across the globe, reinforcing its status as a key meeting point for decision-makers seeking to influence Africa’s energy future.
Produced by dmg Nigeria events, a subsidiary of dmg events, organisers of global energy shows such as Adipec and Gastech, NOG Energy Week 2025 aims to deepen collaboration, drive market transformation, and open new frontiers for energy growth across the continent.
