PLAYERS in Nigeria’s energy sector have called for the inclusion and embracing of AI (Artificial Intelligence) driven energy alternative to address myriad energy challenges in Nigeria.

They argued that AI-enabled Distributed Energy Resources (DER), platform not only delivers reliable energy around the clock but also drives social and economic impact.

Country Director of HUSK Power Nigeria, winner of the 2026 FELAS Technovator award, Olu Aruike, said that stable energy sources such as the one provided by HUSK, enables local livelihoods, boost small businesses, and contributing to climate-positive development across Africa and Asia as it provides energy round the clock.

He stated this at the Future Energy Leaders Awards (FELAS) 2026, renewables, and sustainable infrastructure organized by Enersider Markets Media.

Leading his team to clinch the Tecnovator Award prize at the meeting, the Country Director charged energy industry players on best practices compliance pointing that the HUSK technology-driven renewable energy solutions expand access to clean power in underserved communities.

Aruike who is also the Vice President, Business Development, West Africa, said that “As a tech-forward organization leveraging artificial intelligence (AI), we will continue in our quest to deploy solar and storage solutions that enable round the clock power, seamless operations, fast scalability, and long-term value as we join forces with other development partners to address the 600M energy deficit in Africa, and beyond.”
