The vice-chancellor, Prof Onyemachi Ogbulu, reminded the new students that their admission was provisional and may be withdrawn when found wanting in character or they engage in acts that contravened the institution’s extant rules and regulations.
Ogbulu urged the students to work hard to excel in their studies, adding that doing so will enhance the university’s reputation as a centre of excellence.
The VC described the institution as world-class, adding, “our graduates are major players in the national and global 21st socio-economic activities, highly skilled and exhibit exceptional competence in their various professions.”
