The Amirah, Al- Muminaat (The believing women’s organization), Hajia Nimotallahi Abdul Qadri, has disclosed that the employment of women outside the domestic domain should not be a threat to the home front, the social and moral responsibilities of children upbringing.

Quadri made this call at the opening ceremony of its 25th yearly training forum themed ‘Life as a mirage’ held at Vanguards Academy, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

The yearly camping programme attracted over 5,000 women from the nooks and crannies of the country.

Also speaking at the event, Chief Lecturer at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (AOCOED), Lagos State, Alhaja Basira Adenowo, encouraged women to avoid negligence, misplaced priority, negligence of their primary responsibilities, seeking illusions and lust as all these amongst others will lead to chaos and societal disorder.

She noted that crime is more in society due to the fact that women neglect their primary roles, prioritizing work over family.

“Men and women are fundamentally different, they are biologicaly different and their roles in the society also differ.

“Human built up denotes his or her responsibility in the society, due to women gentle nature and tenderness women are enjoin to nurture children while the men are enjoined to provide for the family. Although, Islam does not forbid women from working, but it must not disturb the primary responsibility.

She added that, nowadays, women engage in works that prevent them from attending to their children because they want to accumulate wealth forgetting that a child that is not well trained would be creating chaos in the society.

She advised women to ensure that their primary assignment is well taken care of so that the society would be a better place to live.

“Reliance on Allah is one of the spiritual virtues of a Muslim woman. Lets go back to Quran and Sunnah and learn about our religion,” she said.

The Chief Imam, Ogun State Police Command, Superintendent Omikunle Waheed, who spoke on ‘Crime prevention tips’ noted that educating women will reduce the crime rate in the society.

According to him, women access to Islamic and western education would produce moral upright individual who would never engage in crime.

“For the development of good children, the family plays a vital role and we cannot rule out the role of women in the society. But today, it is unfortunate that women are treat because we refuse to empower them with adequate knowledge,” he said.

He advised parents to spend quality time with their children in order to strengthen their relationship.

“Being friendly with our kids is part of the sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (SAW). It helps in curbing crime in our society. If your children are free with you, they will be able to divulge information’s to you.

“Due to parent unfriendly attitude, so many children lock up and there may be so many things they want to share with their parents. If you are close with your children they will be free to share their secrets with you,” he said.

He added that under aged children are now joining secret cults and the statistics of those involved in kidnapping people for ransom are in their 20s.
