Amplify Africa has hinted on plans to hold the 2021 edition of ‘AFRO BALL’ later this year.

Founded in 2015 by Damilare Kujembola & Timi Adeyeba, who serve and CEO & COO respectively, Amplify Africa is an arts, music, entertainment and media company, whose main objective is showcasing and highlighting the excellence of African creatives and professionals, Africans, and Africa in diaspora.

AFRO BALL one of Amplify Africa’s most notable events, is an annual gala held in partnership with the U.S. Congress where different professionals of African descent who are excelling in their various fields of endeavor are recognized. In the past, notable people in entertainment, politics, healthcare, tech, fashion and music have been celebrated. Honorees receive an award and a certificate of recognition from the United States Congress. This is made possible through a partnership between Amplify Africa and the office of Congress woman Karen Bass. Congressional certificates of excellence are presented to honorees at the Afro Ball.

In an interview with our reporter, Timi Adeyeba, who is the COO of Amplify Africa, said that the 2020 edition was shelved due to the coronavirus pandemic, but plans are already in motion for the 2021 edition which he says is tentatively scheduled for fall. “We are already in talks with the prospective headliners and other supporting performers as well as prospective sponsors” Timi said. The event date and full list of performers will be revealed once arrangements become concrete.

Afro ball is a fashion-conscious gala celebrating and honoring various successful Africans and has often been referred to as the African MET gala.
