Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation (CBAAC), a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, has announced a strategic partnership with DigitA, an Africa-based strategy and advisory firm, in a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
As the premier institution responsible for promoting, preserving, and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Black and African people globally, CBAAC’s partnership with DigitA aims to leverage technology and innovation in advancing its mandate of promoting and preserving Black and African cultural heritage.
DigitA will serve as CBAAC’s official digital adviser, providing strategic advisory support in designing digital strategies and delivering tailored training and capacity-building programmes.
The partnership will also focus on building digital infrastructure, launching key innovation initiatives, and exploring scalable digital products tied to African arts and heritage.
The Director General of CBAAC, Aisha Adamu Augie, in a statement, said: “Cultural preservation and promotion in the 21st century must go hand-in-hand with innovation.
This partnership with DigitA reflects our vision to take African cultural heritage to global audiences through technology.”
On the other hand, the Managing Partner, DigitA, Oswald Osaretin Guobadia, said: “We are honoured to support CBAAC to re-strategise how African culture can be experienced, shared, and scaled globally. Our goal is to equip CBAAC with the digital tools and strategies necessary to amplify its impact across Africa and the diaspora.”
