Following a successful outing with the recent release of Afro Dancehall club banger, ‘Wickedest Wine’, Afro-beat music sensation, Oladapo David Olajide, professionally known as Dapo Tuburna releases his much-anticipated debut EP titled “I Remember Everything (IRE)”.

Meaning ‘God’s Treasure’ in Yoruba and ‘Everything Is Alright’ in Jamaican, “I Remember Everything” lends more credence to Dapo’s widely acclaimed gift of delivering hard-hitting club bangers, his poise and charisma as a performing artist, and his knack for storytelling as a songwriter.

This body of work sees Dapo proving the unparalleled versatility and dexterity he wields once again as he skillfully uses his melodic vocals to score deserved points throughout the 6-track EP.

IRE begins with a Quebeat produced feel-good masterpiece, ‘Pause’ that inspires both hard work and relaxation. On ‘Pause’, popular radio personality, Kemi Smallz, deftly ushers Dapo Tuburna into the project as he explores the struggles, disappointments, and failures that come with striving for success but motivates focus and determination, as well as tenacity in order to achieve greatness.

Following closely is ‘Sinner Man Vibes’, which ironically comes with a saintly feeling. The ease with which the Gingo Nation singer transitions to this track is nothing short of exceptional. The Afrobeat track touches on all the “bad boy” moves with a teensy-weensy feel of self-validation as he says “….nobody holy”. ‘Sinner Man Vibes’ is produced by the legendary ID Cabasa.

The cynosure of attention on IRE is one of 2020’s biggest single, ‘See Finish’ which features one of DMW’s finest, Mayorkun. Also produced by Quebeat in March 2020, this chart-topping single is a renowned sing-along hit amongst folks of all ages with messages that are still relevant. This masterpiece track left a phrase on everyone’s lips – “avoid see finish”.

‘Wickedest Wine’ changes the feel of the EP, delivering an upbeat, groovy, and playful vibe. Its rich drum syncopations and heavy bass influences caressed by Dapo’s melodic vocals leave you no choice but to move your body as you enjoy this classic hit. This club banger was produced by Syn X

This brilliant body of work is given a fine finish with lyrically sound ‘Gbim Gbim Gbim’, produced by talented producer, Vybes, and the impressive title track, ‘I Remember Everything’, produced by Kizz Ernie and Dr. Jazz. ‘I Remember Everything’ sees Dapo reminiscing on his rough voyage through life while also praying for better days. Both tracks bring a close to the EP, leaving listeners in awe of Dapo’s musical finesse.

IRE encapsulates Dapo Tuburna’s many experiences from childhood – from his early years in the church choir to the bomb explosion that ripped Oshodi (a suburb in Lagos, Nigeria) apart, to performing at the Fela Shrine for Femi Kuti amongst other experiences.

Dapo Tuburna has paid his dues on the Nigerian music scene with hit songs including ‘Nothing’, ‘Ajala’, ‘Gingo Vibes’, and ‘Feel Free’. His unique style, poise, and charisma, boosted by the bubbly city social life endeared him to music lovers which in no time led to his swift rise to prominence in music circles in Nigeria.
