Conference champions cause for inclusive, sustainable mobility

The Transformative Transport Service Design Initiative (TRATSEDI) has hosted the Transformative Transport Conference 2025 at Loughborough University, the United Kingdom, bringing together thought leaders, practitioners and academics from around the globe to re-imagine the future of transport services.

Supported by Loughborough University, Lagos State University and Sanjivani University (India), the hybrid conference attracted over 500 online participants and more than 300 students in classrooms worldwide who tuned in to keynote speeches and panel discussions.

The conference featured three impactful keynote sessions, where Mameri Eze, Project Manager at Great Western Railway, shared insights on inclusive leadership and project management, shaping the sustainable and progressive rail industry.

Policy Lead at RNIB, Erik Matthies, drew on both professional and personal experience to highlight the importance of accessibility for blind and partially sighted travellers.

Prof. Marcus Enoch of Loughborough University explored transport system performance and long-term city futures.

Delegates participated in parallel sessions covering diverse topics such as electric vehicle adoption, inclusive mobility for women entrepreneurs, informal transit accessibility, AI in transport modelling and rural mobility innovations.

The day concluded with a panel discussion exploring how industry practice, media narratives, and academic research can collectively transform transport systems.

Speaking on the success of the event, Conference Secretary, Dr Emmanuel Mogaji, said: “TTC 2025 has once again shown the power of bringing together diverse voices to tackle shared mobility challenges. The scale of participation, spanning continents and generations proves that transformative transport is a truly global mission. We are deeply grateful to our partners, presenters, volunteers, and attendees for making this vision a reality.”

TRATSEDI extends heartfelt thanks to all volunteers whose dedication ensured the smooth delivery of the conference.

The organisation now looks ahead to TTC 2026, scheduled for 12 August 2026, with a renewed commitment to making an even greater impact on the future of transformative transport services.
