FAO distributes hybrid goats to 3,400 Borno households
The Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) in Nigeria has distributed hybrid goats to 3,400 households in Borno State to restore their means of likelihood.
The Country Representative of the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) in Nigeria, Al-Hassan Cisse, disclosed that the goats were distributed to the farmers to restore their means of livelihood after displacement by insurgents.
Various means of livelihood of the home-going Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were destroyed by Boko Haram insurgents in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.
According to FAO’s representative, the distribution of 13,600 brown goats to IDP households in the three states was to promote sustainable means of livelihood destroyed by insurgents.
