FCE Katsina, Obudu get new provosts

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. James Bassey Ejue and Dr. Aliyu Idris Funtua, as new provosts of Federal College of Education Obudu, Cross River State, and Federal College of Education.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. James Bassey Ejue and Dr. Aliyu Idris Funtua, as new provosts of Federal College of Education Obudu, Cross River State, and Federal College of Education, Katsina, Katsina State, respectively.

Both appointments, which are effective August 19, 2016, and for a first term of four years, are subject to renewal for a second term.

Education Minister, Mallam Adamu Adamu, who announced the appointments in Abuja, said the conditions of service, including remunerations and fringe benefits shall be as approved for provosts in federal colleges of education.

Dr. Ejue, 52 holds a doctorate degree in Guidance and Counseling, obtained in 2003, from the University of Calabar.  Until this appointment, he was Provost, Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa.

Dr. Funtua, 56, holds a PhD in Hausa Language from Bayero University Kano, in 2015. Until his appointment, he was the acting provost of the institution.

Earlier on, Buhari had also approved the appointment of Dr. Seiyaboh Enetimi Idah, as the new rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe, Bayelsa State. The appointment took effect from July 27, 2016 for a first term of four years, subject to renewal for a second term.

Adamu who announced the appointment, said the condition of service, including remunerations and fringe benefits shall be as approved for rectors in federal polytechnics in the country.
