Sheikh Abdul Malik urges peace, tasks governments on people’s welfare

In a profound display of faith and spiritual devotion, thousands of Muslim faithful gathered at the Lutful-Lahi International prayer ground to observe the 2026 Lailatul Qadr (Night of Majesty).

The atmosphere was charged with supplication as believers sought the blessings of a night described in the Holy Quran as better than a thousand months.

The spiritual gathering was led by the renowned founder of Lutful-Lahi International, Sheikh Mohammed Robiu Adebayo Abdul Malik (popularly known as Baba L’oworo).

Addressing the pressmen, Sheikh Abdul Malik emphasized that the last ten days of Ramadan are a sacred period that cannot be determined by human logic, but by Allah alone.

He noted that Lutful-Lahi has maintained a tradition of searching for this special night for over 50 years.

“You cannot search for the Night of Majesty before the 21st day of Ramadan. It is a divine gift mentioned three times in the Quran, where any act of goodness is more rewarding than a thousand years of worship.

“Islam is fixed; no amount of modernization can change its tenets,” the Sheikh declared.

As the cleric approaches his 90th birthday, he used the occasion to reflect on the state of the nation and the world.

With elections fast approaching, the Sheikh advised politicians to cultivate a legacy of good deeds. “Any politician should have a record of service that speaks for them,” he remarked.

Addressing ongoing wars, he dismissed claims that they signify the end of time, noting that as long as people worship Allah, the end is not yet here. He attributed war to a lack of fear of God, reminding the faithful that God permitted humanity to live together in peace.

Expressing optimism, the 90-year-old cleric, who has witnessed decades of infrastructural and social changes, commended the current administration and urged Nigerians to promote peaceful coexistence.

“The role of the cleric is not to interfere in politics, but to keep praying for the government and the country,” he said.

The newly appointed President of Lutful-Lahi, Alhaji Abdul Ganiu Agbaje, also described the Night of Majesty as a grace on humanity. He observed that Ramadan serves as a spiritual reset where Shaytan is tied, leading even those who rarely pray or fast to return to their Creator. “Allah loves us; that is why He bestows this month upon us. We must use this opportunity to move closer to Him and seek the destiny He has written for us,” Agbaje stated.

The event concluded with intensive prayers for national stability, economic success for the current administration, and personal breakthroughs for all attendees.
