Eid-El-KabirTHE need for Muslims to be extremely tolerance and fulfil promises have identified as major lessons from the Eid-el-kabir festivals.

The Muslim Community of Oyo state (MUSCOYS), in its sallah message therefore enjoined Muslims not to lose sight of the lessons of tolerance, fulfillment of promises and principle of self denial and obedience to the commandments of Allah.

The message signed by Alhaji Ishaq Kunle Sanni and Alhaji Mursiq Siyanbade, Chairman and General Secretary respectively, said: “Without doubt, Eid –ul-adha is unique for many reasons. It is traditionally associated with prayers, peace, restraint, piety, reflection, charity, kindness, devotion and love,”

We urge the new administration at all levels to fulfil all their electoral promises to the electorate, especially in the areas of generating employment for the teeming youth, providing security for the citizens as well as enhanced infrastructure in the areas of education, health, energy, power and transportation.

Nigerians, especially the Muslims, should continue their prayers to those in the position of authority and also discharge their own civic responsibilities towards the nation,” It stated.

The group further commiserate with President Muhammadu Buhari and the families of Nigerians died in the stampede at Jamrah, Saudi Arabia during the Hajj exercise.
“Even though their deaths were painful, it is our belief that they have fortunately died as martyr and such will be rewarded with al-Janah firdaus. Amin”.

Worried by the increasing rate of kidnapping in the country, MUSCOYS has canvassed for capital punishment for kidnappers.
The Community stated that kidnapping was taking a dangerous dimension which requires a drastic measure to curtail as it was giving the country a negative publicity.

Citing cases of recent kidnapping in the country, the Community commended the security agencies for their intervention and urged them to ensure security of the citizenry.

It called on the National Assembly to enact legislation capable of tackling kidnapping and other forms of security threats in the country.
MUSCOYS hereby applauds the bail-out gesture by the Federal government to the states to offset their unpaid salary of workers.

Beyond oil as a major source of the revenue, it is high time that government at all levels must diversify the economy to other sectors such as agriculture, mining, tourism which the nation is endowed with,” it added.
